Its a good practise to put the opponent's carrom men to be safe. Putting opponent's carrom men in base can achived directly or in a simultaneous way by pocketing your carrom men at the same time the opponent's carrom men can be put in base onto your side.
If the opponent carrom men is put in base directly a strike is wasted. So pocketing your carrom men and putting the opponent's carrom men can be done like the above method. When a striker hits carrom carrom men it tends to bend in some other direction. So by hitting the opponents carrom men first and have bend in the striker's path and your carrom men can be pocketed.
